If you have a group of images that you think would be suitable for inclusion in the IDEAS image database, the information below explains how to submit a collection for review by the IDEAS Editorial Board. The Board consists of faculty and librarians. Their primary criterion for evaluating submissions is the value of the collection for teaching in Asian Studies.
What is a collection?
A collection is more than a large number of images. It is a number of images with a unifying theme or unique provenance. The Japanese Religion Image collection is an example of a collection with a unifying theme. The Rinden-Kanost collection is an example of a collection with unique provenance.
If you have a group of images that fits this definition, you can submit it to IDEAS for consideration as a collection.
If your images don't fit the collection definition,we encourage you to submit them to IDEAS as individual images. To submit single images or small groups of images that don't form a distinct collection, please use our individual image submission form.
We will acknowledge receipt of your submission within two weeks. The IDEAS Editorial Board will discuss your submission during their next monthly conference call.
