Asian Takeout is a cultural multi-media database created to serve the faculty, staff, and students. Its purpose is to allow individuals to come and “takeout” digitized media related to Asia for use in classroom or campus-related settings. Asian Takeout is organized around a number of keyword concepts and is designed to alllow students to participate in adding to the database in an on-going fashion by contributing to Asian Takeout in the form of images or other media, written descriptions, or bibliographic supporting materials.
Asian Takeout is a growing resource; any and all feedback in the form of suggested corrections or pedagogical notes will be most welcome. Over time, and with the aid of outside contributors, it is hoped that the database will come to be a useful resource for people both within and outside of the field of Asian Studies. Contributions of images as well as textual information to the database can be made by contacting Professor Karil Kucera, Departments of Asian Studies and Art & Art History, kucera@stolaf.edu.
